Sheepdogs kick off my Sound Of Music

Sound Of Music Festival at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington has been my "go to" summer festival for pretty much ever. Its the perfect location, right on the water, and its free !! So really, who can complain.  This year, I will admit I was kind of disappointed with the lineup, but as always, I still went out and had a blast.   Kicking off my Sound Of Music Festival, was the Sheepdogs. They were on the cover of Rolling Stone a few years back, then for a while they were the new "hip" thing around. Now, I don't know. Yes, they are a good solid rock band.  Yes, they wear plaid and have beards.  Yes, they are good Canadian Boys.  But I can honestly say, I am over them. They were cool for a while, but I feel like they pretty much fit into the cookie cutter mold of what a typical rock band is. They have ok music and are bordering on the boring side. Anyway, I got there late AND then found out that for some unknown reason, my passes did not allow me to shoot headliners this year (Which left a bad taste in my mouth as in the past 5 years of covering Sound Of Music, this has never been an issue). So sorry if the pictures kinda suck.   I will have better ones next week when The Sheepdogs take the stage again in St. Catharines for the SCENEfest Music Festival.  Check em out anyway.
