Fefe Dobson Brings the JOY

Back Two weeks ago I made a stop off at the MOD CLUB in Toronto to catch Miss. Fefe Dobson perform at her CD release party for her new album JOY.

I have seen Fefe play many times, most recently opening up for Hedley on their "Show Must Go Tour" in Toronto, and I was interested to see what she would bring with her new album. Fefe Dobson has been around for quite a while.. you may remember her hit "Bye Bye Boyfriend" from a few years back. She has grown up and her sound has changed quite a bit, and I will admit that she defiantly impressed me with her vocal abilities and her confidence on stage.

The Mod Club was packed with both fans and industry people and everyone seemed to be enjoying the performace. When you first walked into the club you were handed a marker and asked to sign a huge board that said "JOY" and tell Fefe what brought YOU Joy. I thought that was a nice touch and I really hope that she loved it.

Through her stage show, it was quite clear that singing and performing is what does give Fefe joy. Her vocals are excellent and she showed a wide range, showing off her rock side on songs such as "Take Me Away" and also playing the guitar and signing some Ballads.

JOY is her 3rd studio album, although her second one was never actually released. With her hit songs "Ghost" and "Studderin" already on the chats.. Fefe has nowhere to go but up!
