The second last act of the night on the main stage at SCENE MUSIC FESTIVAL was Hamilton's own Arkells. These guys are amazing, they love Hamilton, and I love them. They have won a Juno, are pretty much the official "party" band for the MMVAs, and they are a legit great band. If you live in Hamilton, you need to know about The Arkells. Their first album was called Jackson Square, they have a song called "Ticats are hummin" and their songs "Michigan Left" and "Whistle Blower" have dominated rock radio charts. They have a new album "High Noon", coming out on August 5th 2014... which also happens to be my birthday, AND they are one of the headliners at this Septembers Supercrawl in downtown Hamilton. Their show at Scenefest brought out a massive crowd, and even when a massive storm hit, the crowd did not move ! Unfortunately, their set got cut short due to the storm, but I am looking forward to seeing them rock Supercrawl in September. Its free, so really, there is no excuse not to attend !
