This was one of the most-hyped events of all of Canadian Music Week. Melissa Etheridge sat down with Ralph Simon for a one hour interview.
I was actually pretty disappointed by this whole Keynote/Interview. Everyone knows who she is and that she is a Lesbian, and I felt like it was talked about way to much throughout this hour and I felt like it kinda took away from her talking about her music and her success. During the interview Interviewer Ralph Simon kept directing the audiences attention to the big screens that were showing a time-line of Melissa's success. Not only did I think this came off looking very amaturish, I found it to majorly take away from the whole interview.
The Highlight of the whole hour came for me, when Melissa started taking Questions from the Audience. Scerena Ryder got up and asked Melissa a question. For those people who don't know, they have been on a cross-country tour together!
Overall, I didn't learn much from this Keynote and there wasn't much that I took away from it. Melissa Etheridge is a very talented song writer, and while I am a fan of her music, I can't say that I am a huge fan of her.
