I had no idea who half the performers were to be honest when Much Music announced their line up for their Christmas Special Much Music Presents: The Big Jingle, but I wasn't going to turn down a free ticket to the show. While I was excited to see my boys in Simple Plan, and current "it band" The Wanted.. the rest of the lineup was totally not geared to my age bracket. I do understand that Much Music is trying to appeal to a younger audience, but maybe I am just getting old? Either way, I was totally entertained by the thousands of girls screaming their heads off for young guy Cody Simpson or Canada's new pop princess Carly Rae Jepsen. Before the show I looked up the ticket prices and I was shocked at the prices, and then comparing it to the amount of stage time that each artist actually got (15-20 mins at the most), It was mind blowing how much money people will pay to see these artists peform for such a small amount of time. I understand the show was being filmed for TV, but I did feel like the time between each act was not used very well at all. Showing photos of todays stars and judging their "sexyness" based on teenage girl screams just seemed stupid to me. Overall, I did enjoy seeing Simple Plan during their short set, but I would have never gone to this show if I had to pay upwards of 80 bucks a ticket. Maybe I am just getting old.. who knows? Anywhos, check out some photos.
