Jesse Giddings... still trying that Rockstar thing..

When I first saw Much Music VJ Turned Singer Jesse Giddings open for Marianas Trench last fall at Copps, I must say, I was pretty much unimpressed on so many levels.  I decided that I would give him a second chance when I found out he would be playing a showcase at Canadian Music Week at Tattoo Rock Parlour. I must say that while I found his voice to be better and his whole performance a lot more entertaining, I still can't get into the songs or the music. My mind is still so confused as to why in the world he uses a sample of the Celine Dion song for a song he said he filmed the video for in Jamaica, if he could explain this to me, that would be awesome.  I feel like he has the potential to be pretty decent, but Jesse needs to move away from this whole pop thing that he is doing, and more so into having an actual rock band.  Either way, the crowd full of 15 year old teenie boppers LOVED it, so in the end I guess that is all that matters.
