Its been not even two months since I first saw this kid walk out on the stage with Alyssa Reid in Toronto, and sing a song I had never heard of. All his introduction was was "This is Derik and hes going to sing a song with me". Now back to present time.. Derik.. or known to his fans as Virginia to Vegas, has a massive hit song with "We are Stars", hes performed on the MMVA stage, and his latest single "Colourful" was just released and its a perfect catchy summer tune. Last weekend, he finally got on a stage, with a full band, and played his first full set to a very excited crowd at Scene Music Festival in St. Catharines. This boy makes my heart melt, hes young, bright eyed and is a seriously talented singer/ songwriter. His set was solid, if he was nervous about the show, he didn't show it, but he had a massive smile planted on his face the whole time, so it was clear that he was excited to be there and he gave it his all. If this show is any indication, this boy has the beginnings of a very solid career. I will be there every step of the way. Derik, Im rooting for you darling, all the best <3 nbsp="" p="">
